Marketing Geniuses Behind Bar for Pregnant Women Now Advertising Bar for On-Duty Pilots

Someone thinks this is a good way to sell an app.

Worst. Idea. Ever.
Worst. Idea. Ever.

Which is worse, a bar for pregnant ladies called Gestations or a bar for on-duty pilots called Blackbox? Probably the marketing team that thought this would be a good way to advertise its smartphone app. Stunt ads for both (clearly fake) places have popped up in the past two weeks with little explanation other than the fact that the they are in some way promoting Bartendr, an app that describes itself in the iTunes store as "an intuitive app indicating the path to thousands of bars." The signage at Blackbox at Lafayette and Spring Streets promises: "Free shuttle service for pilots to La Guardia, JKF, Newark." Meanwhile, an answering machine for Gestations says: "Visit us on October 25 at 504 East Fifth Street before that water breaks." So things may or may not become clearer in a few weeks.
