AAA Ichiban Sushi Sleeps with the Fishes as East Houston Suffers More Shutters

The inexorable shutter of the business' occupying the northeast corner East Houston and Orchard Street continues, with AAA Ichiban Sushi being the latest victim. The restaurant has been closed since Monday and won't be returning, reports Bowery Boogie. The L shaped plot of land was purchased by Ben "Sledgehammer" Shaoul who seems intent on "developing" the block, is almost certainly the party that recently secured the air rights from the adjoining Katz's Deli. Of the remaining business Tiehama Grocery seems likely to fall next, while the fate of Lobster Joint, Ray’s Pizza, Empanada Mama, 200 Orchard, Karaoke Boho seems sealed. There is some good news on the block however, as Taqueria will be moving to St. Marks.
