There isn't much detail to report just yet, but buried at the bottom of Flo Fab's weekly openings roundup comes the news that "some of the partners of Pearl & Ash" are planning to open a new restaurant called Rebelle next door at 218 Bowery. When reached for comment, a representative clarifies that Pearl & Ash's general manager Branden McRill and its saber-loving sommelier Patrick Cappiello are both behind the new project, as well as co-owner Alessandro Zampedri. That only leaves out chef Richard Kuo, who presumably will be sticking to the kitchen at Pearl & Ash.
The chef at Rebelle, meanwhile, will be one Daniel Eddy, who comes from Paris's critically acclaimed Spring. When Eater spoke to the Pearl & Ash team back in April, they hinted that they wanted to open something like this very close by, but at the time they weren't sure whether they wanted their next project to be more elevated or more casual. Given the modern, well-composed dishes put out by Spring, is sounds like this is likely to be the latter. Still, the only other fact that's for certain this early in the game is that the restaurant is slated to open in spring of 2015.
