Construction is underway at Amanda Cohen's new Dirt Candy, aka Big Candy. So far it looks pretty, well, big. There's an open kitchen:
The original shoebox space stopped dinner service at the end of August, and the team is shooting to reopen in the new space come December. In the meantime Cohen's playing around with some recipes Wonka-style recipes for things like kale matzo balls, kale ramen noodles, beet donuts, and some rainbow hued vegetable brioches. 86 Allen Street, Lower East Side.
