Today Jody Williams, the owner of Buvette and one half of the West Village restaurant power couple behind the soon-to-open Via Carota, tells Eater that the party she and partner Rita Sodi hosted there the other night was for the staff of Buvette and of Sodi's restaurant, I Sodi. They were breaking in the space, making sure "the toilets flush and the lights stay on," but the opening is still a few weeks away.

The good news is that everything went smoothly. But it sounds like the duo are taking their time to get comfortable in the kitchen before they open the place up to the general public, and Williams tells Eater she doesn't plan to open the restaurant until the end of the month, if not later, depending on "how we feel in the kitchen."
