The Living Room, a staple of the city's music bar scene for 16 years, will finally reopen next week. The bar was forced out of its Lower East Side home after a rent hike in late 2012, and chugged along month to month, finally shuttering a year later. Now, it's getting ready to open again — across the river, just in time for the CMJ music fest, says Bowery Boogie. The team announced the news on Facebook yesterday saying:
Psssst.... hey you... guess what? WE'RE BACK!!!!! Come to The Living Room's soft opening next week at our brand spankin' new Brooklyn location at 134 Metropolitan Ave. Starting Tuesday 10/21, we will be open for CMJ, partying all week.
