BOERUM HILL — Boomwich, Peter Entner's sandwich operation on Atlantic Avenue, is nearly open. The team tells Eater that it is simply waiting on the city. There will definitely be a cold fried chicken sandwich that riffs on the famous cold fried chicken pie from Pete Zaaz (which Entner has just announced plans to reopen). For a bit more info on the menu, check out what Brooklyn Magazine has to say.[BK Magazine]

EAST VILLAGE AND SOHO — Both Back Forty and Back Forty West are hosting cider events. At the former there will be a cider tasting event in the backyard from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Ticket are $50 and include snacks. Next Monday, Back Forty West will host a four course dinner with cider pairings. Author Rowan Jacobsen, an expert on apples, will be in attendance at both, and tickets are $85. [EaterWire]

GRAMERCY — Maialino's bar is offering several Barolos by the glass for the season, ranging in price from $17 to $58. Featured producers include Giacomo Conterno, Bartolo Mascarello, Giuseppe Mascarello, and Giuseppi Rinaldi. [EaterWire]

WEST VILLAGE — Edible Schoolyards is hosting a benefit party tomorrow with Attaboy and Danny Levy. Karlie Kloss, Questlove, Daniel Humm, and Christina Tosi will be there. The event takes place in the home of Ali Cayne of Havens Kitchen at 129 W 11th Street, and tickets are $250. Email mb@esynyc.org.
