The chef/TV personality is planning a serious return to the New York restaurant scene.

A month after Scott Conant announced the official end of his involvement with the original New York Scarpetta (the offshoots in other cities are still very much his), comes the news that the chef/TV personality/selfie-taker extraordinaire is planning to open a new NYC restaurant in 2015. It will be called, simply, Conant, and is expected to serve an Italian menu, most likely in a similar vein to Scarpetta. It will also be his first restaurant opening in New York since Scarpetta landed on the scene in 2008, and, now that he and Scarpetta are officially through, it will also be his only restaurant in New York.

Far ahead of the actual restaurant opening, Conant is planning to put on a one-night-only pop-up version of it this coming Saturday, as part of the NYC Wine and Food Festival. The five-course meal is in partnership with Resy, the online reservation app created in part by Eater co-founder Ben Leventhal, and tickets will only be available for purchase through Resy. Those go live this Friday, October 17 at 9 a.m. (that's the day before the dinner takes place), and the location of the meal will only be revealed to those who actually buy a ticket. The location of the actual restaurant is also still a mystery.

The menu for Saturday's dinner is forthcoming, but in the meantime, send any intel on the location of Conant, pop-up or permanent, to tips@eater.com
