Lunch Every Day at Charlie Bird; Stephen Starr's Japanese Pop-Up

Starr serves sushi at the New York Botanical Garden, plus a release party for Diner Journal.

SOHO — Starting this Friday, Charlie Bird is serving lunch every single day (instead of just Fridays and weekends). The restaurant will now be open all day on weekdays, from 11:30 a.m. on. Lunch lasts until 3 p.m., and includes dishes like blue crab toast, cacio e pepe, and veal pastrami. After that, the restaurant will serve a limited menu until 5:30 p.m., when dinner starts. BRONX — Restaurateur Stephen Starr is hosting a Japanese pop-up at the New York Botanical Garden's new Garden Terrace Cafe starting this weekend with the Kiku: Art of the Japanese Garden exhibit. In addition to sushi, sashimi, and tempura there will be cha soba noodles with ginger, wasabi, and a shoyu dipping sauce.
