Are Serge Becker and Josh Pickard Taking Over 7A?

It was reported earlier today that longtime East Village restaurant 7A would be closing at the end of the month. That rumor appears to be very true, as the restaurant has confirmed the news on its Facebook page. Now EV Grieve hears that Serge Becker and Josh Pickard might be taking over the space, with plans for a southern themed restaurant and bar.

Becker has been designing restaurants and clubs for decades, but is best known recently for La Esquina, Cafe Select, Miss Lily's, and the soon to open London import Bodega Negra. He also designed Lure for Pickard and the two are partners at Joe's Pub at the Public Library. If this is true, you can guarantee that the project will attract a scene. Consider this developing.
