Ripert Evacuates Le Bern Following Manhole Fire [Update]

Eric Ripert and the Le Bernardin team evacuated their four-star restaurant this afternoon after a manhole fire broke out on West 51st Street. Firefighters are currently putting out the blaze, and the restaurant plans to reopen for dinner this evening. The Time-Life building across the street was also evacuated, and thankfully, no injuries have been reported. Eric Ripert caught the fire and the mass exodus from the dining room on Instagram:
