Jean-Georges Vongerichten opened The Inn at Pound Ridge, his rural Westchester restaurant, this week. It's housed in a building that dates back to 1883 and that was, for a long time, actually an inn. Now it's been refurbished into a two-story restaurant, with stone walls, wood floors, and working fireplaces.
The Inn falls into the growing family of ABC restaurants (Vongerichten tells Grub Street he was originally going to call it "ABC Country"), and serves a menu of locally-sourced dishes that range from a bacon gruyere burger to roasted lobster to several pizzas and pastas. The chef, Blake Farrar, is a vet of The Mark, while his wife and pastry chef, Melody Farrar, comes from ABC Kitchen/Cocina.
