Late last month BarBacon, a bacon-centric restaurant, opened in Hell's Kitchen. And shocking as it may be that New York would get a potato-only restaurant before it got a bacon one, this is in fact the city's first bacon-only restaurant.

Chef and owner Peter Sherman, who Gothamist reports has worked with Joel Robuchon, David Bouley and April Bloomfield and others, serves an extensive menu of bacon-heavy dishes, ranging from a BLT to a bacon lobster roll to a maple bacon chocolate chip cookie. There is also (of course) a bacon tasting flight, and even the blasphemous option of substituting turkey or vegan bacon. The bar focuses on craft beers and bourbons, and offers beer pairings to go with that bacon flight.
