Keith McNally's MePa blockbuster Pastis is still scheduled to close on January 31 so that the new landlord can completely renovate the building. Although there have been rumors that this might actually be the end of the restaurant at its current address, a manager tells the Daily News that the team plans to reopen 15 months later, with a new 15-year lease. Back in October, McNally told Eater: "My plan is to reopen Pastis as soon as construction is finished." The Daily News reached out to Pastis enthusiast John Waters, who celebrated his 60th birthday at the restaurant, and plans to have his 70th birthday bash there as well. Waters notes: "Keith's places are like sets for great restaurants, with amazing food. What more do you want?"
