The newly revamped restaurant half of Coco 66, now under the ownership of restaurateur Michael Callahan of Indochine, Bondst and others, has just opened in Greenpoint. The once troubled bar and music venue is now home to a local food-focused bistro, with chef Joe Capozzi, a vet of The Fat Radish and Ruschmeyer's in Montauk, at the helm.
On the new menu are dishes like steamed clams and a massive pork chop with cherry peppers and escarole. A bar menu also includes dishes like smoked bluefish with "hardtack crackers" and a $5, slider-sized bacon cheeseburger. The dining room has been completely renovated, but from the outside the place still looks the same, and the other half of it remains a bar and music venue, the same as it ever was.
