99-year-old Italian pastry shop Caffe Dante will close after service on Sunday for a major revamp. Jeremiah Moss reports that the owner's son plans to add a bar and a kitchen, to turn it into a full-fledged restaurant. Moss writes: "It's an old-fashioned, comfortably lived-in cafe, with wobbly tables and faded photos on the walls. It remains one of the few spots where you can sit quietly and read, sipping a beverage, unbothered." The renovations are expected to take about six weeks.
