A partner from the Bowery Presents may be looking to expand into Brooklyn. Jim Glancy, a Live Nation executive, has apparently entered into a lease for a massive warehouse building in East Williamsburg with plans on opening a 2,000 person venue named Brooklyn Classic.
There is no word if Glancy is doing this on his own or of Bowery Presents is further increasing their holdings in Brooklyn. The project still needs a liquor license, and the community is already showing mixed feelings, with one neighbor telling the New York Daily News "there are a lot of kids who live in this area, and this sort of stuff is going to influence the kids." As always, you have to think about the children.
