Today, Sant Ambroeus restaurateurs Gherardo Guarducci and Dimitri Pauli and chef Dan Silverman opened The Regency Bar & Grill, the new restaurant in the Loews Regency Hotel. The old Regency restaurant, which was famous for its power breakfast, closed around this time last year, and all those politicians and tycoons broke bread at places like Sirio and Park Avenue Autumn for a few months. But now, the famed power breakfast is back, this time with a menu by Silverman. Leigh Wynn, the maitre d' at the previous restaurant, has returned to her post, and Spike Lee was there this morning, like a champ.

The food here is similar to what Silverman served at The Standard Grill, although the menu leans a bit more Italian. Options include crudo plates, salads, pastas, steaks, and grilled seafood dishes. Jeff Sytsma, formerly of The Elm, is the pastry chef. Take a look at the menus below, and stay tuned for pictures of the space next week.
