This spring, New York will get its first Hawaiian-themed cupcake parlor/pizzeria/Caribbean-American fine dining restaurant with the opening of Hawaii Cupcake Factory. Tribeca Citizen notes that the restaurant is slated to open on April 10 somewhere on Greenwich Street, although the owners are keeping the exact location a secret. From a press release:
"Not just another cupcake store," but a truly upscale fine dining restaurant with more than 75 flavors of cupcakes, such as their famous Memphis, a banana cupcake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting and chocolate dipped bacon. Want something spicy? Then reach for Caliente, a romance between chocolate cupcakes with raspberry compote topped off with chipotle buttercream. The menu will also include barbecue, chicken and waffles, lobster pizza, and "the Caribbean version of Turducken." And, to complete the experience, the space will have "Hawaiian themed decor." More details on Hawaii Cupcake Factory as they become available.
