Alchemy, Texas Closes After Just Six Months in Business

New, 13 comments

Pitmaster Josh Bowen has decided to close down his critically-acclaimed barbecue restaurant Alchemy, Texas. It quietly opened in the space that formerly housed Pearson's Texas BBQ and Ranger Texas Barbecue back in April. Bowen breaks the news on the restaurant's Facebook page:

It's been real. Alchemy, TX bids you adieu...We had a pop up lease and were just kind of having fun. Lease is up and it just isn't a tenable spot long term. We thank everyone of you who came out and perhaps Alchemy, TX will return to your planet.
Back in April, Bowen told Robert Sietsema: "I think of this as a place for doing experiments." The restaurateur also operates John Brown Smokehouse in Long Island City.
