Today, Curbed NY takes an extensive look at the state of the South Street Seaport businesses that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy, including beloved South Street tavern Paris Cafe. Unfortunately, the bar still hasn't reopened yet, but the good news is that it looks like the work on the space is almost done. Owner Peter O'Connell explains: "We've done a major restoration...We've had to do the basement, the electric. We've redone everything here." The bar dates back to 1873. No word yet on when it will reopen, but hopefully Paris Cafe will return before the one year anniversary of the storm.
