New York regulators are expected to announce a crackdown on deceptive Internet reviews on sites like Yelp and Citysearch. Investigators working for attorney general Eric T. Schneiderman found that it was easy to pay reputation management firms to drum up good reviews for restaurants and other New York businesses. Schneiderman tells the Times: "What we've found is even worse than old-fashioned false advertising." [NYT]
