Jennifer Oz LeRoy Wants to Reopen Maxwell's Plum

New, 1 comment

Jennifer Oz LeRoy, the daughter of legendary restaurateur Warner LeRoy, tells Gael Greene that she's planning to open a new version of her dad's fabled restaurant and singles bar, Maxwell's Plum. She won't reveal the exact address, but LeRoy hints that she's negotiating the lease on a space somewhere downtown, probably in the Meatpacking District (Gael calls it the "Meat Market"). The space she's eyeing would have room for 350 guests.

Thor Equities will most likely be her landlord and partner. She tells Gael: "They called me...And they own almost everything down there, so if it isn't this spot, it will be another." LeRoy says she will "recreate the ceiling," but she also likes "something new and exciting." The original location closed in 1998, after more than 30 years in business.
