TRIBECA — Drew Nieporent's Nobu Next Door is now serving its first-ever brunch menu. The offerings include lobster and grits, a version of bagels and lox with crispy rice, and blueberry and yuzu soba pancakes. Nobu staples like the black cod with miso are also available during brunch, and the beverage menu has several new cocktails. You can also get sushi and raw bar items. Take a look at the menu below. WEST VILLAGEPiora just launched a six-course tasting menu for $85. It includes things like suckling pig, scallop with black garlic bucatini, and Chris Cipollone's popular market vegetable dish, which is made with 14 vegetables and powdered Thousand Island dressing. The a la carte menu is still available as well. UPDATE: The Piora team sends word that chef is still working on the tasting menu, and it is not available quite yet. Stay tuned. [EaterWire]

BOOK CLUBEater National has an early look at Daniel Boulud's new cookbook, Daniel: My French Cuisine. This is really three cookbooks in one: there is a section devoted to dishes served at Boulud's three Michelin star restaurant Daniel, another one to the iconic dishes of Boulud's homeland in Lyon, and finally to simple menus home cooks can prepare..
