Brooklyn chef Daniel Burns is teaming up with Matt Orlando of the critically-acclaimed Amass restaurant in Copenhagen for two 20-seat dinners in October as a part of the first-ever Nordic Food Festival. The meals will take place at Burns's Greenpoint hot spot Luksus. Several years ago, Daniel and Matt worked together at Noma in Copenhagen, so this is basically an old-school Noma dinner. It's the food nerd equivalent of Simon reuniting with Garfunkel for the concert in Central Park, or Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina teaming up for their 2009 world tour.
Tickets are $240, and the meal includes beer pairings. The boys are just doing two 20-person seatings, so if you want to score a table, head over to the Nordic Food fest right now and hit that "buy ticket" button. The Nordic Food Fest will also feature several other special one-off dinners, including a meal at Acme with Mads Refslund and Gunnar Karl Gíslason of Reykjavik's Dill restaurant.
