Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, Eater's sixth annual Shitshow Week is just a little over a week away. It's the time of the year to remember that as much as New York is the stage for the very best restaurants in the world, it is equally a city for the worst. There are bad restaurants, there are mediocre restaurants, uncomfortable restaurants, sad restaurants, and then there are shitshows—restaurants that defy all logic, that are so utterly and completely off the rails that it can't be chalked up to simple ineptitude. This is the week when we celebrate these colossal restaurant blunders.
There will be reviews of potential shitshow, stories from shitshow survivors, loads of special guest stars, and tons of surprises — it promises to be the biggest, baddest Shitshow Week yet. But we can't do it all alone. As a part of the festivities, we're going to be on the hunt for the Worst Table in New York, and we need your suggestions and photos (for inspiration, check out the nominees from 2008). And if you've got any candidates for the Deathwatch OR for potential shitshow restaurants for the Eater team to review, please send your thoughts to the tipline or drop them in the comments.
Mark those calendars: Shitshow Week 2013 kicks off on Monday, August 19. No shitshow will be spared.
