Nine months after a three-alarm fire tore through Sarge's Deli, the beloved Murray Hill old-timer is finally getting ready to reopen. Andrew Wengrover, the owner of Sarge's, tells Eater that he's hoping to be open by mid-September, although it may be as late as the first week of October. A glimpse inside shows a completely gutted interior, but Wengrover says the reopened Sarge's will be the same as it always was. For a brief history of the 48-year-old restaurant — the only 24-hour deli of its kind in New York — check out Brooks of Sheffield's Who Goes There? piece from back in 2011.
