Chris Nuttall-Smith, a critic for The Globe and Mail, reviews the sweets at the brand new Toronto branch of Momofuku Milk Bar this week, and is not a fan of Christina Tosi's confections. His most scathing barb goes to the B'Day Truffles, which "taste like gas station snack cakes that have been soaked in benzene and glucose syrup, and cost $16 per dozen." But apparently it's really Canadian culture that's to blame — they're just "not anywhere as crazy about over-the-top sweet" up there. [G&M via Eater National]
