Odessa Cafe and Bar Will Close By the End of the Month

New, 1 comment

Odessa Cafe and Bar is set to close for good at the end of the month. Rumors of the retro bar's closing have been in the air since last year, when the building was sold to a new landlord. Earlier this summer someone filed for a new liquor license for the space, and since then various closing dates have been reported. At one point it looked like Odessa would close as early as August 15, and later EV Grieve got word that the date had been pushed back to September 6.

But now, to settle the matter once and for all, a sign in the window says Odessa Cafe's last day of service will be August 31, after 33 years in business. The space has already been taken over by new owners, who plan to turn it into a "full-service American brasserie restaurant." Meanwhile, the Odessa Restaurant next door remains open as usual.
