Prandial, Mark Stern and chef Pierre Rougey's French-American bistro in the Flatiron District, will close this week after just a year in business. But Stern and Rougey aren't done with it yet — they're going to reopen the restaurant in mid-September as 1200 Miles, a New American restaurant with North African and French influences. That means that there will be both burgers and tagines on the menu, and the interior will get a North African-influenced revamp, with low banquettes, ottomans, and Algerian fabrics.
