New, 1 comment

EAST VILLAGE — Northern Spy Food Co. is offering a six-course "Eat Your Veggies" dinner tomorrow night. The meal is entirely plant-based (i.e. vegan) and includes dishes like smoked beet tartare and eggplant "chorizo." It's $60 per person, plus another $20 to include drink pairings, and reservations can be made online. [EaterWire]

CARROLL GARDENS — Red sauce old-timer Marco Polo Ristorante is now selling boozy snow cones from a cart outside the restaurant. The fresh-shaved cones come in flavors like bourbon tea and Campari Strega, and they are available every day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. [EaterWire]

GREENWICH VILLAGE — The little old laundromat next to Carbone has closed, and Jeremiah Moss hears a rumor that the restaurant may actually be looking to expand into that space. So far that claim is totally unsubstantiated. [JVNY]

SYDNEY — Momofuku Seiobo, the Australian outpost of David Chang's empire has just been named Gourmet Traveller's Restaurant of The Year. The accompanying write-up of the restaurant in the magazine praises its "cutting-edge kitchen" and "international team of talented young chefs." [~EN~]
