Restaurateurs Michael and Susy Glick of Parlor Steakhouse will soon open a restaurant called The Writing Room in the space that once housed Elaine's. The name pays tribute to the host of literary greats that once frequented the place, from Norman Mailer to Woody Allen, and the New York Post reports that the menu will feature "East Coast classics" like a lobster boil.
In other news, the Post reports that Cedric Tovar, the current chef at Bobo, is opening his own restaurant on the Upper West Side. The new place, a "Mediterranean-inspired tavern with Italian and French roots," will be called Tessa. Eater has reached out to the Bobo team to find about their future plans, but no word yet on when Tovar will leave or who will take over the kitchen.
