Checking in With Joe Carroll's Lake Trout

New, 12 comments

Joe Carroll and Matt Lang shuttered their cheap Baltimore-themed fish sandwich shop Lake Trout last December with plans to tweak the menu and reopen the tiny space. A peek through the window shows that the dining room still looks exactly as it did last winter, with no visible signs of life. It's like they just closed the doors and walked away. Meanwhile, Carroll's other restaurants, Fette Sau and St. Anselm, are still packing 'em in nightly. Although the critics didn't love Lake Trout, it certainly had some fans in the neighborhood. Maybe the boys are still perfecting that cheese fish recipe?
UPDATE: A reader points out that Jose Ramirez-Ruiz and Pam Yung are doing their Chez Jose pop-up in the space on Tuesdays and Thursday nights. The dinners started this week. Check out more information on the pop-ups on Fork in the Road.
