Outdoor Seating at Rosemary's; Pig Island in Red Hook

WEST VILLAGE — Rosemary's just launched its sidewalk cafe yesterday. The outdoor seating has room for 16, and it's open all day. [EaterWire]

RED HOOK — The fourth annual Pig Island will take place on Saturday, September 7 on Red Hook's waterfront. Over 25 chefs from restaurants like Parish Hall, Kuma Inn, and Fletcher's BBQ will serve dishes made with local NY state pigs. There will also be beer and wine, cooking demonstrations, and live music all day. Tickets are $65 per person online, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit Value Added Farm. [EaterWire]

MIDTOWN — Momofuku Má Pêche has a couple cocktail classes coming up, on Saturday, August 10 and Saturday August 24. The first, taught by Momofuku's bar manager John Debary, will cover making cocktails with the "hidden gems" found in the kitchen pantry. At the second, Booker & Dax's Tristan Willey will teach professional bar techniques. Both classes run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and are $75 per person. Tickets are available online. [EaterWire]

LOWER EAST SIDE — Jeepney is hosting its second annual balut eating contest this Saturday at Hester Street Fair. There will be about 12 people competing to eat the embryonic duck eggs, a traditional Filipino food, and any interested entrants should email iluvbalut@gmail.com.
