Ippudo Westside Now Serving Ramen and Much More

New, 2 comments

Although the official opening date for Ippudo Westside is July 13, the restaurant has started serving guests early. The West 51st Street branch of the wildly popular ramen restaurant is open with limited seating for lunch and dinner from now through Thursday.

The menu includes the tonkotsu broth ramen and all the other favorites from the East Village location, plus some new dishes like a wontons stuffed with crab meat, sea urchin toast, and a gluten-free Shojin ramen. The space has a few less seats than the Downtown location, but this one's got an 11-seat ramen room (opening later this summer), a lounge area, and a 20-foot ramen bar. All of the stocks and noodles for the East Village restaurant will be made at the new location. For an early peek at the operation, check out food writer Jordana Rothman's Instagram pics from last week. Ippudo Westside was first announced way, way back in August 2011, but it's finally here. Do send any early reports our way.
