According to the Times, rich Upper East Siders are now migrating downtown because of the lively scene. One posh West Village resident explains: "When we come home at 10:30 in the evening...we can sit outside at Sant Ambroeus and the streets are crowded and it's not even a Saturday." Another recent transplant notes: "You can go out to dinner and you don't have to be dressed...you don't have to wear jewelry." [NYT]
