For a cool $1,000 a year, a service called Today's Epicure offers its members super last-minute reservations for the city's hottest restaurants, long after they've all been scooped up on OpenTable. That's because Pascal Riffaud, a former hotel concierge who runs the service, scoops them up himself, often just by using pseudonyms. Then he puts those spots up for grabs to anyone willing to spend the money on the chance at instant gratification. [FR]
