At the end of the week, chef Travis Post will leave Yunnan Kitchen on the Lower East Side to pursue other projects. Post tells Eater: "It was a great year and hopefully we'll see some familiar faces one last time this week." He opened Yunnan Kitchen last spring with restaurateur Erika Chou.
Post says that he plans to take a break from cooking to work on other projects, but he hopes to return to the kitchen at some point in the near future, perhaps at his own place. Yunnan Kitchen received four Underground Gourmet stars, and one star from the New York Times. Before opening Yunnan Kitchen, Post worked in the kitchen at Franny's. The management has not announced his replacement yet.
