Which Restaurants Would You Put in the Four-Star Club?

Brooklyn Fare: A possible four-star contender? Photo: Brookyln Fare/Facebook

Now that Daniel has three stars from the Times, there are only five restaurants that have the highest rating from the newspaper of record: Jean Georges, Per Se, Del Posto, Le Bernardin, and Eleven Madison Park. There are usually about six restaurants with the four-star designation in this city, although for a spell in 2011, there were seven.

Pete Wells can award whatever stars he wants, whenever he wants. But let's suppose for the sake of argument that there's now a vacant space in the four-star universe that needs to be filled. Which restaurant do you think deserves to be a part of the club? If you were Pete Wells, which fine dining establishment would you bump up to four stars, and why? Place your picks and thoughts in the comments.
