Gordon Ramsay at The London Rumored to Be Closing

New, 1 comment

Rumors are flying that Gordon Ramsay at The London will shutter for good some time in September. Though the hotel itself has not yet confirmed, several sources tell Grub Street that various high-ranking employees have already left the restaurant, while the remaining 65 staff members have been given notice.

It's been a long, grueling deathwatch for the restaurant, where the ongoing list of troubles ranges from lawsuits to walkouts to a disappointing two stars from the New York Times. And even though his name stayed attached, Ramsay himself has not had a role in the sinking restaurant since he sold off his stake back in 2009, facing over $100,000 in suits from unpaid vendors. But even if rumors prove to be true, this might not be the end of Gordon Ramsay in NYC. The shouty British chef is reportedly looking to open a steakhouse in Midtown, and he may open a location of his airport restaurant Plane Food in New York as well.
