Drake and Chris Brown Off The Hook For Bottle Brawl

New, 1 comment

Do patrons bear any responsibility for how they act when they go to a nightclub? If you are two well-known hip hop artists who decided to try and settle a rivalry by throwing bottles at each other in a small room, the answer is apparently no. A judge has ruled that neither Drake nor Chris Brown bears any financial responsibility to Entertainment Enterprises, Jon B.'s entity that owned the Greenhouse trademark when their infamous brawl occurred at its basement club W.I.P.

Jon B. sued the pair for $16 million, claiming that the media frenzy over their bottle brawl cost him valuable licensing deals. A New York judge dismissed the lawsuit because the pair had no duty to behave at the club, and a club owner can't sue whenever a fight happens to occur.
