UES Omakase Tanoshi Sushi Expanding Into Bento Game

Critically-acclaimed Upper East Side omakase Tanoshi Sushi appears to be expanding its offerings. A tipster sends in the above photo showing signage for Tanoshi Bento right next door, writing that it looks "close to opening." Neither Tanoshi nor the bento spot have answered phone calls, so no further details on that. But per the tipster, the space has a small handful of tables and a walk-up counter, so this will presumably be a much more casual, takeout-and-dine-in counterpart to the 10-seat omakase next door.

Even though there's no indication of its existence on the Tanoshi website or anywhere else online, expect it to open very, very soon.
