1) Park Slope: A new all-day French spot called Olivier French Bistro is coming to the Park Slope side of Fourth Avenue at 11th Street. It has taken over the former location of dreadful pizzeria Johnny Hollywood's and has given the space and the exterior an overhaul. It's still a couple of weeks away from opening, though it is doing cash-only coffee service for anyone on Fourth Avenue in a pinch for caffeine. [POST-PLYWOOD]
2) West Village: The Grey Dog Café, born on Carmine Street in 1996 before expanding with three new locations (and then losing that Carmine one), is returning to the street where it all started. A tipster notices signage saying it's coming to the former Marinella Restaurant space on the corner of Carmine and Bedford, and the website says it's "Coming home to Carmine St. Christmas 2013." 3) Midtown: Midtown Lunch learns that Ippudo is going to open a restaurant-within-a-restaurant at its new Westside location, prepping to take an upstairs dining room (which has its own kitchen) and make a separate restaurant specializing in vegan, vegetarian, and chicken ramen. That could debut in October. [PRE-PLYWOOD]
4) Harlem: Houston-based seafood chain Joe's Crab Shack is opening a new location at the corner of 125th and Frederick Douglass Boulevard later this month, Harlem Gal reports. It's set to open on July 30. [POST-PLYWOOD]
5) Upper West Side: West Side Rag has a number of updates on the neighborhood. A new restaurant called Barley & Grain is opening in the next couple of weeks at 80th and Amsterdam, though other details are scarce. Meanwhile, a new Australian bistro called Burke & Willis is taking over the former Sunburnt Calf space on West 79th, and that should open next week. [PLYWOOD]
6) Harlem: Harlem Bespoke reports that long-in-the-works wine bar Barawine is also getting set to open. Signage on the door says it will open "at the end of July." [PLYWOOD]
7) Soho: A slightly-odd sounding place called Eight Turn Crepe is opening on August 1 at 55 Spring St. Per press materials, the restaurant will focus on healthy crepes "served in a traditional Japanese cone-style." [PLYWOOD]
8) Midtown: The Post reported earlier this week that a new location of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is coming to Midtown, on Broadway between 53rd and 54th streets. The chain is also opening a location at the bottom of Broadway, between Chambers and Reade in Tribeca. [PLYWOOD]
