Court Street Grocers Hero Shop; MOFAD Puff Party

RED HOOK — Court Street Grocers just opened a hero shop in Red Hook, after a long delay caused by Hurricane Sandy and a successful crowd-funding campaign. They have a much shorter menu of sandwiches than the original shop, but it's almost all new items, like a roast beef sandwich with Worcestershire vinaigrette and French onion dip. PARTYWIREThe Museum of Food and Drink's Kickstarter campaign ends tomorrow. The team behind the museum is hosting a special "Puff Party" on August 13 for people that donate $300 or more. Ted Allen will host the event and Dave Arnold will make the cocktails. SOHO — Lisa Donovan, the pastry chef at the renowned Nashville restaurant Husk, will be teaching a class at City Grit on the basics of Southern baking. She'll also cook a Buttermilk Road Sunday Supper as an extension of her Nashville dinner series. The class is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m on Saturday, July 27 and the dinner is at 7 p.m. the next day.
