René Bastian Stein is the new executive chef at beer-centric Upper East Side restaurant Hospoda. He previously worked as the chef de cuisine at Seäsonal in Midtown. A rep for the restaurant sends word that Stein is serving a menu of "New American beer-inspired cuisine." Previously, Hospoda had a menu of modern and traditional Czech fare — Sifton liked it enough to give the restaurant one star in 2011. Stein's new menu includes things like pork belly with mushrooms in beer sauce, and beef tartare with chive mayo and a pretzel bun. Stein was one of the members of the Eater Young Guns Final 50 in 2012. Check out his new a la carte menu below:
