TASTING TOUR — Conde Nast Traveler is hosting a Global Tasting Tour with a series of dinners at restaurants around the city. Each dinner includes a prix fixe meal and drinks and some also involve presentations, live music, and surprise gifts. The participating restaurant's include Il Buco Alimentari, Hanjan, and Gramercy Tavern, and ticket prices range from $75 to $160. Tickets are available online. [EaterWire]
MCDONALD'S WIRE — McDonald's recently partnered with Visa to give its employee's some financial planning materials to get their "money on track." Besides a good dose of condescending advice, the fast food giant provides budgeting templates that are downright inaccurate. Among other fatal flaws, the templates suggest that workers need a minimum of $15/hour to get by, as opposed to versus the average $8.25 McDonald's workers make. Eater National has a full video analysis of the faulty templates from Low Pay Is Not Okay, a fast-food workers advocacy group. [~EN~]
