Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

When: Today, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Various locations
What: This afternoon, Brooklyn Based and Brooklyn Brewery are taking to the streets again with the Total Long Island City Immersion. You'll need to pick up one of the 500 free immersion cards to at either Alewife or LIC Bar in order to get your hands on complimentary beer at places like Alobar, Corner Bistro, and Dominie's Hoek. The card will also give you access to special deals at the LIC Flea, including $1 off Oaxaca Tacos and $2 off lobster rolls from Luke's Lobster.

When: Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: E. 60th Street
What: The French Institute Alliance Française is hosting its annual Bastille Day celebration on 60th Street between 5th Avenue and Lexington tomorrow afternoon. There will be crêpes, macarons, and cheese galore from French favorites around the city, including Dominique Ansel Bakery, Epicerie Boulud, and FP Patisserie. Check out the complete list of food and drink vendors here. Admission to the street fair is free.

When: Today, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Fort Reno BBQ
What: Brooklyn Cookery, a monthly hands-on supper club, is hosting a class on how to properly smoke meat and create cocktails over at Park Slope favorite Fort Reno BBQ today. Pitmaster Tim Coughlan will teach guests how to make various meat rubs and the basics of using a smoker, and bartender Akil Marshall will give lessons on how to make the perfect cocktail. Participants will also try out a few standard barbecue side dishes, like burnt end beans and coleslaw, which they'll enjoy at picnic table along with some smoked meat and booze. The class costs $100.

When: Today, 2 p.m.
Where: The Brooklyn Kitchen
What: The Brooklyn Kitchen is teaming up with Pennsylvania-based flour mill Daisy Flour this afternoon for a grand pie competition. Amateur bakers can enter their sweet homemade pies into the competition for $10 per pie, and competitors must use the Daisy Organic Pastry Flour provided by the Brooklyn Kitchen. Judges, including Melissa Weller of East River Bread, the guys from Baked, and Rachel McBride of Blue Stove, will determine the winner. If you'd rather eat pie than make pie, you can get a ticket for $5 at the door, which lets you taste pies and vote for your favorite. Proceeds will go to benefit the Greenpoint Soup Kitchen.

When: Today, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: The Jolly Tinker and The Bronx Beer Hall
What: Two Bronx beer joints, The Jolly Tinker and The Bronx Beer Hall, are hosting a bar crawl in the Bronx today. The crawl will hit twenty bars, including the Punch Bowl and G Bar. Transportation between bars will be provided, two local historians will discuss the must-know historical details of the area, and several bars will be offering food and drink specials. Tickets are $30 online, or $40 at the door.

2012_05_smorgasburgAlso of Note: Smorgasburg is open for business this weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with vendors like Red Hook Lobster Pound, Blue Marble Ice Cream, and Hash Bar. The Hester Street Fair is on for this weekend as well. Looking to try a new restaurant this weekend?
