Ligaya Mishan finds some hits and misses at Cherry in the Dream Downtown hotel: "There are glimpses of what the chef, Andy Choi, previously at Le Cirque and Má Pêche, can do. A pale carpaccio of madai (red sea bream) arrives rosy at the edges from a sauce of umeboshi (pickled plum) and graced with translucent strands of negi (giant green onion); the surprise is the puffed-rice-cracker pearls the size of Pop Rocks, highlighting rather than disrupting the fish's delicacy."
