Tomoe Sushi, the Greenwich Village restaurant known for the perpetual line of waiting diners winding out its door, was shut down on Tuesday by the Department of Health. The restaurant had earned a "B" in its last graded inspection in the fall of 2012, when it racked up a total of 26 violation points. Though most recent report is not yet available, an ungraded inspection last month docked Tomoe 42 points for violations like evidence of mice, inadequate personal cleanliness, and improper washing facilities. But a note next to the yellow DOH slip in the window says they hope to reopen by Monday.
