UPPER EAST SIDE — Café Boulud is launching its Summer Weekends menu this Friday, a three-course prix fixe dinner for $68 per person. The menu, which will feature seafood dishes like Hamachi crudo with watermelon and oysters with cucumber mignonette, will change weekly, and be offered every Friday through Sunday until Labor Day. Meanwhile, Bar Pleiades next door will begin hosting a jazz trio every Friday night, and is introducing some new summer cocktails that incorporate foraged ingredients like eastern juniper berries and rhubarb. SOHO — City Grit is hosting a party this Friday for former Top Chef contestant Edward Lee, to celebrate the release of his book Smoke & Pickles. For $75, tickets include a signed copy of the book and tastes of some of the dishes in it, plus unlimited Singha beer. Tickets can be purchased online. [EaterWire]

TORONTO — Some epic flooding knocked out power in most of Toronto yesterday, causing quite a few restaurants to shut down unexpectedly. All three of David Chang's newish Momofuku outposts were among those forced to close for the night, but the Café Boulud at the Four Seasons Hotel managed to come out unscathed. Eater National has more, including a picture from Andrew Zimmern of diners eating noodles by candlelight. [~EN~]
